Dear Lord,
Help me spread your fragrance where I go. Flood my soul with your spirit and life. Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that all my life may be a radiance of yours. Shine through me, and be in me, so that every soul I come in contact with may feel your presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me, but only you. Stay with me, and then I shall begin as you do; to shine so as to be a light to others. The light will be all from you; none of it will be mine; it will be you shining on others through me. Let us praise you in the way you love best, by shining on those around me. Let me preach you without preaching, not by words, but by my example, by the catching force, the sympathetic influence of what I do, the evident fullness of the love my heart bears to you.
Thousands of people are dying for a piece of bread. Thousands upon thousands are dying for a little bit of love. Take the information that you have learned today and hold it close to your heart. Let it inspire you to perform the greatest form of expression of love, and join the Hope Movement

THANKS NEW YORK!!!!!
I counted it up and today you gave $99.02 from 102 sponsors. A big thanks to the generous man from Columbia that gave me a $20 with his complete trust. You guys were all great this evening!! It was fun to talk to and meet you all. What I was a little nervous about (going out and asking you all for money) you made easy. Now please tell your friends and spread the word. We still need 7,000 sponsors!!! But for now, I’m hit’in the sack!!! See you tomorrow!!!
Love,
Crystal

David,
I am so proud of you and Steve. I am praying for the two of u everynight. I am saving a copy of the article from the paper and putting it in Taylor’s keepsake box so she can always see what an incredible god father she has. I love you so much.
Stay safe and strong,

Dave,
My thoughts and prayers are always with you. Your strength and faith is a inspiration for us all. Please take care of yourself and be careful. You make us all proud. I Love you Son!
Steve, Thank you! We owe you. What you are doing is appreciated. When you get back to Michigan we will all share a shot of Jack! May God bless you both on your journey. Take care and watch over each other.

Hi Dave,
I missed hearing about your endeavor on the 23rd at Brittany’s Graduation Party and saw the article in the Sun and News. What a wonderful example of goodness you are providing your students with by “walking the walk.”
You sounded exhausted yesterday after biking up that mountain. I hope your sleep restored your strength and you’re ready to continue. Your heart is in the right place and I can’t help but believe that you are doing God’s will. You have already done a lot to promote awareness of this problem in Latin America and to show your students that a job well done requires a lot of effort (not just 60 minutes of homework after school
)
You may count on Tom, Katie, Brittany, and I to sponsor you. I’ve emailed your web address onto some of my friends and may send a note to each of my sixth graders to check out your website.
You are in my prayers!
Love,
Shelley
p.s. Crystal- I have an Uncle Don Edwards who grew up in Milan, MI and lives out in Riverside, CA. Are you by any chance related to him? He’s married to my mom’s sister, Marge.

Please pass along this message to Dave and Steve:
CVS carries a product called SuperBlue, which is a topical pain reliever that you can roll on your sore knees and back. It willl help ease the muscle and joint soreness and doesn’t smell nasty like BenGay. Taking two Aleve before you go to sleep at night should help the soreness, too. There are also studies that show caffeine can reduce muscle soreness, so keep drinking that green tea!
I’m praying for you, Dave– I think I’ve prayed more times since you left than I have in the last 5 years combined. My hope is that you can draw as much inspiration and strength from your supporters as we do from you.
On a side note, I thought it might interest you to know the derivation of the word godspeed, as it is very appropriate for you right now. In the modern world, speed has come to simply mean a rate of movement but the English (derived from the Anglo-Saxon) origin of the word did not mean velocity, but to thrive, or to prosper. The term God speed, used by some translations of the Holy Scriptures, is a contraction of the saying, “I wish that God may speed you,” or in today’s terminology, “I wish that God may bless you with success.” Both specific uses of “God speed” found in the King James Version have nothing to do with physical motion. Just something to think about…
Take care and Godspeed,
Lauren

Ok so I didn’t realize when I left my note yesterday that Dave is coming home. So now I’ll leave a different inspirational thought.
Dave, you are an inspiration. The fact that you made it as far as you did is absolutely amazing. More than that, it took a lot of guts to do something this big– most people (myself included) would have never had the courage to try. And even though you didn’t make it to San Fran, you still achieved quite a lot. For one thing, you got more people talking to God than they probably were before. That, in and of itself, is something to be proud of. And you biked the frickin’ Appalachian Mountains, man! So don’t be discouraged that you didn’t meet the final goal. Sometimes the goals we set for ourselves are not the plans God has for us.
Take care of yourself over the next couple of days and we hope to see you soon.
Much love,
Lauren

I wound up making a couple of these today, too!!! The key is making the slits long enough!(I wish I had read your previous post about these bags!) But I have been able to sew the handles on with the machine one bag I made reversible (I LOVE it!!!) and was able to do it…. oh, heck, I might have to write up a tutorial! It would take more than a couple sentences to describe.
